pretty in purple

It's been over a month since my last post. Sigh. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm back at the job that pays the bills.

I am currently applying to a few craft shows and needed a better way to display my envelope sets. The Man built a stand for me using an old tv tray stand he found at the Reuse center. Such a great idea. My task was to paint it.

I decided to use purple because it goes well with green (the color of my table coverings) and isn't holiday-ish. It's a little lighter than I thought it would be, but the color turned out quite nice. And I only managed to get a little paint on my feet.

I have applied to two craft shows for this winter. I am waiting to hear from Huron High Artists Market & Craft Show (Ann Arbor). Since they cashed my check, that usually a good sign. I also applied last week to the Handmade Detroit show in November. I should hear from them in a few weeks. As soon as I know, I'll let you know where you can find me... In the meantime, I'm nursing a bit of an injury. It's minor for everyday living, but major for crafting. I managed to cut my index finger instead of a loaf of bread last Saturday. OUCH! I probably should've gotten stitches, but I didn't want to make The Man take me to the ER during the UM-Notre Dame game (that's not it - I really didn't want to go - this is the lie I tell myself). So my finger is trying desperately to heal, but I can't do any hand sewing and knitting is quite uncomfortable. For the moment, I'm trying to encourage healing and get some non-crafty chores done. But all I can think about is the possibility of having two craft shows this winter that I am *not* ready for. Thank goodness the day job keeps me so busy I don't have time to go into a panic attack.
