First project - finish friendship books for swap on Swap-bot. For those of you that don't know about friendship books (also known as "fbs"), they are a snail-mail method for collecting pen pals. Each person its sent to writes their name and address on a page and sends it on to someone else. When the fb is full, it is returned to its owner. Sometimes people decorate pages, sometimes they just slap in an address label. I used to get these all the time in high school from Peg, but never got any I made returned. Bummer.
I had to make two new fbs for each of my five swap partners. I took a little extra time to check out their profiles and personalize the fbs I made for each of them. My favorite by far was the ode to ransom notes for swap partner Kim. She's a huge mystery/crime drama fan, so I thought this would be fun.
The man also thought this one was by far the best.
Now that the fbs are finished, it's time to start sewing. I have to do a little clutter clean-up, but that should only take a few minutes. Then I can finish a few bags that are cut and ready to go, and can work on some new designs for the shop. This summer the goal is to get the inventory up so I can get some new items in the Etsy shop and apply to the Handmade Detroit holiday craft show this winter.
