naughty bunnies

Jimmy and I spent several hours last weekend planting a small garden in the yard. It occurred to us that our neighborhood rabbits that frequent the yard might eat some of our lettuce, but we figured there would be enough to go around. We were wrong, so wrong! The rabbits ate the red leaf and romaine lettuce down to nubs, and there is absolutely no trace of the baby spinach. The pole beans, yellow pear tomatoes, and roma tomatoes seem to be safe - there are no nibble marks just yet.

In a last attempt to have some greens this year, I moved the best looking nubs of lettuce into pots and put them on the porch. If the rabbits want some now, they'll have to learn to climb stairs.

I also spent some time today retaking a bunch of photos of my magazine envelopes. I must have spent two hours taking, deleting, and editing photos. But finally I think I've got good photos for each of my sets. And since the sets will vary from the photos, it was worth putting in the extra time and effort.
