no paper cuts

Monday morning was spent at the Salvation Army looking for t-shirts for future tote bags. All clothing was 50% off due to the holiday, and I was able to get quite a few colorful t-shirts that have never been worn or are in very good condition. Can you guess what t-shirt color is the hardest to get your hands on? Hot pink. But I lucked out and found one in great condition. I have so many ideas of what to do with these things. My sewing machine is in for some serious work in the near future.

I've been trying to finish watching the final season of the Sopranos - and I can't sew and watch television at the same time. So, the sewing machine has been getting a break and I've been working on paper envelopes. I made about 100 envelopes from magazine pages in a variety of themes - art/sculpture, gourmet food, textiles, interior design elements, and jewelry. And I managed to make all the envelopes without a single paper cut.

I've also been working this week on the administrative side of getting my craft business up and running. Obtaining Federal and State Tax numbers, registering to collect sales tax, getting a business account, researching how to keep documentation for the IRS, purchasing supplies - very exciting stuff. I also figured out today how to edit my photos when I make mistakes (and I make a lot, but I think a new camera would help with the photo quality). My goal is to have my Etsy shop completely setup with a few items listed by next weekend.
